Types of Heaty and Cooling Herbs

Traditionally the Chinese have classified all herbs by their innate properties: heaty, those which stimulate the system; cooling, t hose which soothes the system; and neutral, those herbs which neither stimulates nor soothes. The chart below provides a list of well-known and most common herbs used in Chinese cuisine and their therapeutic properties.
